PLAY SALONE ONLINE MUSIC AWARDS ON COURSE

According to the organisers of Sierra Leone's inaugural PLAY SALONE ONLINE MUSIC AWARDS, voting lines will officially be opened on the 10th of December and closed on the 29th, a day before the winners are set to be made official online (December 30th).
The unique award show and the first of its kind is set to honour the creme de la crème of Sierra Leonean talent who will contest the 18 categories on offer. The winners will receive their certificates in due course.
Founder of the awards show, ASHMIRU JOSIAH (TUNEHXI FRESH BABY) from Freetown, Sierra Leone said he came up with the idea as a way to appreciate and honour the efforts of local artists.
"Through these awards, our chief goal is to recognize the hard work that our artists put into their music and also bring the nation together in celebrating them.
" We felt that it was vital for us to put in place and host such an award show in order to let our musicians know that their efforts haven't gone unnoticed ", he said.

Ashmiru said that the awards came together as a result of a concerted effort from AFTERGLOW EMPIRE, PLAY SALONE MUSIC and DMIC MUSIC GROUP among others and that, though the plan was to have a live ceremony, lack of funds had denied them the opportunity to do so. He was however optimistic that the secobd edition of the awards would be a totally different story.
" We are initially going to host the awards online but hopefully next year (by God's grace) we will be able to host a live ceremony for the event.
" Our hope is to come back next year bigger, much stronger and of course with enough financial backing to give the people an event well-worth the hype", he said.
