INSIGHT ON DROCOLE: A RISING HIP HOP ARTIST FROM THE BUSHES

DroCole a hip hop artist from Juliasdale, a small resort town in Nyanga, Zimbabwe . He was born on January 6, 1996 at Concession hospital, Concession, Zimbabwe.

DroCole started his musical journey in 2011 as a ghost writer. In 2013 he recorded his first single track, however due to financial constraints and the fact that he was still schooling he failed to balance his obligations and would later that same year decide to pursue music full time. DroCole attended Ellis Robins Boys’ High in Mabelreign, Harare to acquire his secondary education.

The rapper gained his inspirational waves and confidence from the complimentary views that were glued to his musical works. People would pass positive remarks such as "you killed it” after listening to his music, particularly due to his energetic and aggressive style of delivery so he began calling himself the “archetype deadly rapper.” He was convinced that no one out there sounded like him. DroCole has released a chain of singles, worked with a number of fellow upcoming artists and producers like Fun. F, Quazor, Tha Kanivore, Splits Loui and C. Bleech from Mutare. He is currently working on his first long-play project, a mixtape titled “Gutta Plan.” Building up to the release of his mixtape, on September 8, 2017 he did a double drop, releasing a hot banger “Pound Sterling,” where he showcased a catchy flow with an attitude, filled with playful chants and the hard-hitting track, “A Milli” where he outlined his intentions and ambitions as a rapper.

DroCole’s music effortlessly stands out, not only because of his unique voice but his execution to the subject matters he addresses, to his choice of words and his rebel flow is just unprecedented. DroCole has a rare and unfabricated story to share with the world.

Currently the rapper is polishing up his upcoming mixtape, “Gutta Plan,” which is set to be released within the next 2 months. The rapper when interviewed he said that the first official single of his mixtape named "Born to Reign" will be dropping even sooner as he is anticipating joy that will be contagious in the musical arena.

WHY ARTISTS SHOULD WORK TOGETHER IN 2018

by DroCole

If you are a rapper, a singer or even a record producer in the music industry today, you must well know that collaborations with fellow artists are undoubtedly essential should one wish to grow big and learn from others. So here are some of the reasons why artists come together to collaborate.

They want to grow their fan base. If you make a song with another artist, you're going to be exposed to their fans and if their fans like your style they might become fans too. This goes both ways like a kitchen door!
The second reason is that artists want to build connections because in this industry one just cannot do it on their own. In this game connections are everything. You have to know someone who knows someone important that you don't know. That's how you get plugged in!
Another reason is to learn from each other and to create something dope and different. Don't feature someone on your track simply because you have gone blank and just need a verse to fill up your track. Collaborate with somebody whose style effortlessly compliment your original sound or at least the sound you wish to produce on a particular project.
Collaborations with others will probably bring out the best in you, especially in a genre like Hip-hop, you want to make sure you go hard. You don't wanna be nobody's b*tch. You know how the game go!
So basically musicians collaborate to further their audience reach and for old cats, it's probably to prolong their relevance. Nowadays I doubt it's ever about the need to create awesome music or respect for the other artist's work anymore. It's mostly about business; the money, which is why your features need to be strategic.
Please don't waste time and energy and perhaps your money working with somebody who isn't good enough. This ruins your whole image and just slows you down and you just can't afford that. You're on a mission, right? If you're serious about your craft and if you ever ponder about where you wanna take your music, you're going to try and act in a professional manner and that includes working with like-minded people. Work with somebody who takes you one step ahead. It doesn't matter how big or small their fan base might be. Quality over quantity is eternally respected.
Lastly make sure that when you collaborate with someone they also push the music you make together as they would their own. Remember what matters is that good music and that it reaches the right people for significant progress to be realized. Point being, pay attention to who you work with and work hard. Surround yourself with people that build you and learn to work with others in humble manner. Maintain a teachable posture, that's how you learn.
Till next time, work on that fam. Let's make great music and make money from it in 2018!

Lil Wayne Claims He Can Release "Tha Carter V" At Will

Lil Wayne Claims He Can Release "Tha Carter V" At Will

The infighting between Lil Wayne and Cash Money Records has ostensibly shelved Tha Carter V, but Weezy claims that’s not the case. In fact, he says he can release it whenever he wants.
During an interview with Q93’s Wild Wayne to promote the 2017 Lil Weezyana Fest, the Young Money founder said he’s simply waiting to drop the album because he wants to do it the right way.
“Of course you’re going to see Tha Carter V,” he told Wild Wayne when asked about the album’s status. “Man, I just don’t want to put it out the wrong way. Honestly, man, I can do what I want honestly at any time. The fans deserve it to be right and that’s how it’s gonna be. I’ma make sure it’s right. I can drop whatever I want to drop. I keep dropping whatever I want to drop. But I’m not gonna give ’em Carter V the wrong way.”
Wayne also stated that he was finished working on the LP. Now, it’s just a matter of putting it out in a proper manner.
Carter V is done,” he said. “Carter V on the shelf just ready to drop. I don’t have to … I ain’t gotta do that. I move on and keep it moving and give them what I’m doing right now. But Carter V is ready to be listened to. It’s just gotta be listened to the right way and like I said, I ain’t gonna give it to ’em wrong.”
Weezy’s words continue his trend of an optimistic outlook on the album’s release. In April, he told fans at a show that the LP was “coming soon.”
The sentiment is drastically different from his mindset in January. A source in Weezy’s camp told TMZ that Birdman was “full of shit” for saying the oft-delayed album was “definitely coming out.”
Listen to Wayne’s entire interview above. Tha Carter V talk begins around the 7:30 mark.

As such, we thought we would give our readers an insight into just who exactly Emtee is.

According to Wikipedia, South African rapper Emtee was born Mthebeni Ndevu 24 years ago and is best known for his debut hit single, "Roll Up".
Emtee 'The Hustler' as he is popularly known to his multitude of followers was born in Matatiele, Eastern Cape but grew up in Rockville, Soweto, Gauteng and has been active in the music industry since 2009.

Currently signed to Ambitiouz Entertainment, a South African independent record label, Emtee's debut album 'Avery', (released on iTunes and domestic music retailers in December of 2015) was certified platinum by RISA as of July 2016.
It is said that for the better part of 2015 and 2016, Emtee became the third most played South African hip hop artist and 10th most played artist overall.

Breakthrough

It was in early 2015 that long time friend and producer, 'Ruff' produced the beat for the song that would eventually become Emtee's breakthrough single "Roll Up" and the rapper claims that the entire track was recorded and finalized in just two hours.
The track went on to receive extensive airplay in Southern Africa and peaked at the top of DJ Speedsta's hip hop chart on YFM.
He featured AKA (real name Kiernan Forbes) and Wizkid (Real name Ayodeji Balogun) on Roll Up Remix, which eMTee decided to call the Roll Up "Re-Up".

Honours

Emtee was the winner of Song Of The Year at the annual South African Hip-Hop Awards (2015). He was nominated for Best Music Video (Roll Up), Best New Artist (Avery), Best Remix (Roll Up Re-Up) and Best Hip Hop Album (Avery) at the 15th Metro FM Music Awards.

Background

The rapper got on stage for the very first time when he was just nine years old, performing at a Yeoville primary school talent show and became the youngest choir conductor at Barnata High School where he won many provincial competitions as a member of his schools marimba band.
The 24 year old started making money from his talent at the age of 17 when he worked as a music instructor at other schools and used his earnings to record his first mixtape titled "The Introduction".
In 2010, he collaborated with South African rapper Maraza on a song titled "In It To Win It" and they both appeared on Channel O's show "HeadRush".

Since then he has gone on to become one of South Africa's biggest and most exciting hiphop stars and songs such as 'Roll Up' and 'Pearl Thusi', among others have gone a long way in cementing his status.
Given his track record, Shoko Festival attendees are definitely in for a treat and will surely get their money's worth.
