He goes by quite a strange 'moniker' but the rapper seems to
have fully embraced the name and every bit of the 'craziness' that comes with it.
This week we caught up with City of Kings (and Queens) rapper
'Ma Crazy' for a brief chat and here is more on what he had to say.
What is your full name?
Melusi Malinga
What is your stage name and how did you come
up with it?
I go by the stage name 'Ma crazy'.
People always told me that l was crazy, especially when I am
on stage so the name just kind of stuck with me since those formative years.
How old are you?
l'm 18 years old
Where are you based
Zimbabwe (Bulawayo)
When and how did this music journey start for
you?
It all started when l was in school at a Rap show contest, it
gave me the push I needed to persue music full-time.
Who were some of your musical influences
growing up?
I was influenced by the likes of Kid x, kwasta, MA E and KO,
to mention a few.
What is it that made you want to be a
musician?
I loved singing a lot when l was young and I have been doing
so eversince.
When can we look forward to hearing a
mixtape/album from you, can you give us more detail regarding that?
I will be dropping a mixtape with Slim Jeez and also the fans
can also expect an album from early next year. My fans need to lookout for that.
Who are some of the musicians/producers that
you have enjoyed working with thus far?
Names like Glan Khumalo and Riley Payne stick out for me, I collaborated
with them on my very first album, not forgettingwith the Crazy Vandals as well.
What do you aim to achieve through music?
Besides the obvious fame, I want the monetary returns as well
and I want to take it further than anyone else ever did.
What makes you standout?
l am a Good rapper and love working with other good rapper's
like me, I appreciate good talent when/where I see it.
If you had the chance to work with any
international artist/producer, who would
it be......and why?
That would be Gemini Major because l like how he works with
other international artists
What are some of the goals that you set for
yourself at the beginning and how far have you gone in realising them?
Forming my own rap crew was one of those goals and I am happy
that things are finally looking up.
