She recently became one of South African music label, Gud Vibes'
latest signings, we sought her out to find out more about how the deal went down
and how she is adjusting to life as a signed artist.
Below are excerpts from our brief chat with rappet Icy Murder.
Word on the streets is that you recently got
signed by South African music label, Gud Vibes, can you tell us more about that
and how it went down?
Well they saw potential in me, the passion i had for the
music i was makin and they decided to have me in their company.
Life was tough ...especially the path that i had chosen. I
pushed myself and I had been a solo artist in the beginning and always
communicated with various people, which led me to greener pastures... I unknowingly
spoke about my hiphop to a certain producer's friend one day and before you
know it i was working with them.
When was the deal officially concluded?
I signed with them on the 17th of December and the contract's
duration is 5years.
What does this new development mean for you
and your career?
It basically means an opportunity, an advantage because i
can rest assured i have people that will work with and protect me from those
that take advantage of an artist's work. It means i can now acknowledge a form
of progressive momentum in my career. It is a sign that one should not give up in
the face of any adversity they might face.
Can you let us in on the emotions you went
through after having signed your name on that dotted line?
I felt spiritually uplifted, for the first time in a while my
path was more clearer. Deep down in my heart of hearts i know the Lord destined
me for greater things. I'm free from the shame that my past makes me feel and
whether those that surround me like it or not, i am Blessed.
Any word as to your new single and future
projects now that you are a signeD artist?
Well, its not the first single i recorded with the label
lol...But its part of the first projects we have worked on.
It is just the beginning so expect more to come in future.
