In an effort to also play our part, that of giving upcoming artists a chance to also be heard and provide a platform from which they can speak from, Btnmedia_zw and Urban Craft magazine will every now and then, shine a light upon some of these aspiring musicians and their work, thereby introducing the world to some of the stars of tomorrow.
Stars, that we feel will have a direct and positive bearing on how the industry will shape.
One such star and one of the names to watch out for is Norton-based hip-hop artist, Trizzy Tay.






 

WHAT IS YOUR FULL NAME?
My full name is Takudzwa kwasara.

HOW OLD ARE YOU?
I am 20 years old

WHO ARE SOME OF THE NAMES THAT HAVE SHAPED YOU AS AN ARTIST?
 I was always a fan of lil Wayne since the first grade so I must say he inspired me ..I liked lil Wayne's music because I would see his struggle in his music..I read his lines like a book.
Kwesta & The game are some of my role models ...I like kwesta because he is dope and he is a skinny dude like me..lol

WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE UPON A CAREER IN MUSIC, HIP-HOP IN PARTICULAR?
I wanted the opportunity to be able to share my own story with the rest of the world in the hope that it might inspire and motivate others as well.

LOOKING AT THE NOT-SO-DISTANT FUTURE, WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF?
I see my music making waves all over Africa in 5 years time or less, my dreams are to own my own studio

IF YOU HAD A CHANCE TO COLLABORATE WITH ANY ARTIST ON THE REGIONAL/INTERNATIONAL MARKET, WHO WOULD IT BE AND WHY?
I think it would have to be Kwesta again because his voice and style is similar to mine. Locally, I wouldn't mind working with GZE.

BESIDES MUSIC, WHAT ELSE KEEPS YOU OCCUPIED?
I'm still going to school, i am studying Tourism.




WHAT IS IT THAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT FROM ALL THE OTHER ARTISTS YOUR AGE?
What makes me unique from other Zim hip hop artists is that I am not just putting lines together for the sake of rhyming but I am actually telling a story that i know most of my listeners will identify with. I am telling my own story, no gimmicks!

WHAT CAN WE LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU, IN AS FAR AS THE MUSIC?
I am dropping a singles collection next year in February titled LIFE YECHIMONSTER among other projects to come.

HOW WOULD YOU BEST DESCRIBE YOURSELF?
I am just a young 'Nikka' on a grind & I won't stop till I have the crown shining on my head.# believe that.

Nothing is impossible if you believe and work hard enough for it.
