Story By: Peter Tanyanyiwa

Outstanding award-winning comedian Carl Joshua Ncube is proving to be
the best in Zim Arts industry everyday as he is continuously making
international headlines. He will be joining a star decorated team of
voice talents such as Trevor Gumbi, Nina Hastie in the adult and edgy
2D animation on Comedy Central Africa, 'My Child: Teenage Mutant
Azanians'.
Carl will be joining the experts both as voice talent and also helping
generate some Zimbabwean story lines and characters.
"We are really excited because the multi-talented comedian also
happens to be an animator and writer and for us this ticked a lot of
boxes," said executive producer, Nick Wilson.
"Our strategy is to be relevant in a number of African countries to
increase our reach. We were excited to meet Carl at the recently held
Comedy Central International Comedy Festival and we instantly got
along with our shared passion to growing animation on the continent.
"We are excited that we have already agreed terms and have many other
projects in the pipeline. My Child TV is looking to collaborate with
Carl Ncube for the specific purposes of creating characters within the
My Child: Teenage Mutant Azanians universe that will appeal to a
Zimbabwean audience," said Wilson in a statement.
He will be called from time to time or on a permanent and contract
basis to contribute to script development and dialogue specifically in
respect (though not limited) to Zimbabwean stories and characters.
My Child: Teenage Mutant Azanians tells the story of Professor
Afronaut, Africa’s top technocrat, as he pilots the maiden voyage of
Africa’s first space tourism programme, together with Africa’s top
leaders and celebrities. Whilst in flight, a cunning chimpanzee is
released from his cage in stowage and in the ensuing bedlam the ape
bites the spacecraft’s nuclear stabilizer and disaster strikes as all
the leaders and celebrities are cross-mutated with adolescent animals.
Carl will also break new ground this March as he has also been invited
to perform at this year’s 9th Edition of the Market for African
Performing Arts (MASA) which runs from the 5th to the 12th of March in
Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
He will become the second Zimbabwean to perform at the festival after
Zimbabwe’s music ambassador Oliver Mtukudzi featured there in 1997.
