Story By:Peter Tanyanyiwa

One of Zimbabwe’s local Hip Hop pioneers, who made a lot of noise at the turn of the millennium, Donald P Nyatsambo popularly known as Don P has made a strong come back with a well-crafted video of the song "You make me feel" which is taken from his forthcoming album. The song was recorded at Russo’s This is studios and the video features faces from the popular TV series Wenera. This is a love song and it talks about people who are partners in life and the way your partner makes you feel, with or without them around. On the hook it goes like "You make me feel as if the world belongs to me, u make me feel like your love is all I am needing..." Don P said his major setback was falling seriously ill for quite some time, but affirmed his fans that he is back now, and back to put Zimbabwe on the Hip Hop map "I wrote my first single in high school, guinea fowl high school and my first demo was recorded at basement studios by clency mbirimi duet with Rodney Chivovo, called 'you tore my heart'. "My first song I remember being played on radio was on MoVip compilation called I like it" with a group called On Scene. I then recorded my solo track called Rocation anthem, which got favourable airplay on power fm and other local broadcasters earlier in the millennium. "Sadly progress was nipped when I had a bout of pneumonia. Since it was a lung condition I was forced to hang my gloves. I guess mine is an against all odds story whereby by the grace of Jehovah and the power of belief. I believed I would eventually let the world know my story through song "Voila". "I believe in marrying art with business, not just record sales and shows chete but merchandise n product endorsements that ultimately ensures kubhadhara kwemagitare," said Don P. He went on to say Rap or hip hop gives us room to be more expressive and makes us better story tellers. It presents a mo vivid picture of expressions being expressed. It gives us depth to be like the Michelangelos and da vincis, picassos and the Tapfuma Gutsas are to visual art. We then have the space to explore the audio avenues. The rapper say he was inspired by expressionists like Paul Matavire, System Tazvida, Tupac, Nas, Rod Stewart, Westlife, Michael jackson, Kenneth "Baby face" Edmond and Smokie Robinson. He however said he is largely inspired by his own life story and experiences. Don P was born and bred in Chitungwiza and thank his family, Sekuru and Gogo nyatsambo (his parents), Greenah fayah and George for not losing faith and supporting his musical career.
