' I cannot wait to finally put this album on the market. I have
been workinh hard all year while putting this effort together.
"I hope that dancehall and music fabs alike will be as excited
and looking forward to the album as I am.
" I put as much of me as I could in the album and I can
only hope that fans will be able to connect with the songs", said Junior Cartar.
The 10-track album itself contains some rich and powerfully thought-out
songs that are sure to catch the ear of many.
The title track, 'Ngoma Dzedu' appeals to the 'powers that be'
to not only recognize, but play local and 'ghetto music' as well
'Teerera', 'Nhamo Yaishungudza', 'Mhamha' and 'Shamwari Yepafeya'
are socially conscious songs that are sure to touch a lot of hearts and minds.
'Ndine Partan', 'Tiri MaChampion', 'Ngoma Ndovapondera' are tracks
that are solely dedicated to the artist staking his own claim to the throne.
The artist made room a 'gospel' track somewhat with the song
'Tenda Mwari' which speaks on the need to accept the Lord in your life and thank
him for all that you overcome on a daily basis.
Junior Cartar said that the person who inspired him the most
was Seh Calaz and probably the whole Mabhanditi family.
The Budiriro based chanter started music at an early age but
pursued it more seriously in the last couple of years.
His previous work of note includes singles like 'Ndipeyi Mukana',
a track produced by Ice n' roses, 'Mughetto Mangu', which was done on the 'Mukurumbira
Riddim', produced by Dark City studios.
The young man's other work includes, 'Tiri Madhara' on the 'Back
in Town' Riddim and a song titled 'Watadza' featuring fellow artist, Young Berry,
which was done at Digital Studioz, to mention a few.
These and other songs established him as one of dancehall's brightest
prospects.
Cartar said that he is motivated and talented enough to take
it further than his fellow counterparts and predecessors.
"My aim is to be more than just another famous face, I
want to go where all my predecessors never went and achieve what most of them
would never even dream of.
"I want to excel at everything that I do and I believe
that it is time that local artists competed on an international scale and my
hope is to be one of the artists that lead the way", said the Mutare-born
artist.
