By Tawanda Ngena

Dancehall artist, Ashleigh 'Seh Sparta' Mhonda said that work on his 12 track singles collection was at an advanced stage and that the final product would be ready for release by early 2017.

Titled 'Nzira Yeupenyu', the 12 track singles collection by the Mbare based dancehall musician will be there to usher music fans into the new year.
" I can confirm that work on the singles collection CD is going according to schedule and fans can feast their ears on it come 2017.
"The wait will be worth it, trust me and I am sure the fans themselves will testify to that once the CD hits the market", said the 21 year
Sparta said that his multitude of fans can look forward to more inspiring and educational content from him plus 'madd' collaborations with various other artists.

"There are tracks that I believe will stand out like the song "Kufara Chete", which i will be singing about the need for one to forget their troubles and more often than not, taking a minute to enjoy life as it is. Given the daily trials and tribulations that we all face, I think we all could all do with a track like that once in a while.
"On the other hand, the track "Feel Like”, I believe best expresses how i feel about the hardships that I myself have come to face at one time or another and how the best course of action sometime is leaving it all in the hands of the Lord", said Seh Sparta.

For this project, Sparta said that he was working with a wide variety of producers, established and upcoming as well.

"On these 12 singles, I am working with different producers, who include Slu Dem, Black Shadow, Mugo Mix and Mobster among others", he said.

According to the main man in the 'Spartan Camp', work on the accompanying videos for the said 12 singles would commence as soon as the singles had hit the stores.
Asked as to where zimdancehall was headed, Mhonda said that only the sky was the limit!
"Our music is growing and improving but we need to stand and unite as one in order to take our genre to a greater level.

"I believe that we also need to start using the universal language, English, more often and collaborate with artists from other countries", he said.

As to the story behind his stage name, the artist explained that,
" ‘Sparta’ was an ancient Greek city-state known for it’s militaristic government and educational system designed to train individuals to be devoted, independent and brave. "This is a mirror image of the characteristics i possess hence the stage name ‘Sparta’‘Sparta’".

He also revealed that it was actually after being signed under the Mabhanditi label that Seh Calaz christened him 'Seh Sparta'.

The musician who started his career five years ago is inspired by the likes of Tommy Lee, Vybes Kartel, Gage and of course, Seh Calaz.
