From sampling his music, his lyrical prowess is undoubted, neither is his hunger to succeed and put local hip-hop on the global stage. ILL - (sublime, with the connotation of being so in a singularly creative way) TACKTEEK/Tactic (an action calculated to achieve a certain purpose) A Zimbabwean born and based rapper releases a single track whilst working on his debut album. Having being inspired by likes of Nas and the late Tupac Shakur, just to name a few ILL TACTTEEK spits dope bars which almost everybody can relate to, meaning you just gotta listen to this guy.
The title of the song is "Heaven Can Wait" and is the first single to be released from his forthcoming album which is entitled Timeless Pieces and is to be released in September (2016).
Heaven Can Wait, is basically a self-motivational track, the core of it being to encourage one's self and not to give in or give up easily.
ILL hopes that his fans and probably everyone who gets the privilege to listen to H.CW can relate to his song and it's message in this same manner he does. As to why he chose September 13 as the day to release his first single, the hip-hop emcee said, "It is a significant date in hip-hop and the day that one of my icons, Tupac Shakur passed away and largely a date that many people actually associate with the 'death' of 'real' hip-hop. So its only right that I begin my journey where he left off and bring back that real hip-hop again" he confidently asserts.
Whether he will be one of the artists to lead this new surge of local hip-hop and not only carry it going forward but give it that much needed direction remains to be seen but he has taken it upon himself to carry that mantle and the track "Heaven Can Wait" is true testament to that.
