With the passion to do such, rising jazz musician Norman Masamba has released a single track titled “Tauya Kuzofara”. Masamba, who doubles as Victor Kunonga’s guitarist, said he was working hard to please jazz fans across the globe.
The song is a party song that encourages people to dance as a way of easing tensions.
Though he has an album “Zvebasa”, the musician believes in releasing single tracks as follow-up to the album. “Fans give us feedback whenever we release albums and the only way to correct mistakes on previous project is to release songs,” he said.
He has gained a lot by working with Victor Kunonga and thanked him for his assistance.
“Victor is like a brother to me who always assists me. Working with him is actually a good experience as he has worked hard to create his own brand,” he said.
Masamba is happy with the response the song is getting from music lovers. “It is doing well on the local market and we are very happy that people are responding to the music,” he said.
He has been performing together with Kunonga as a solo act and their shows have been attracting better crowds. Born in December 1987, Masamba did his primary and secondary education in Kwekwe. He joined Bob Nyabinde in 2006 as a drummer before coming to Harare, where he played as a session artiste. Masamba played for top musicians like the late Chiwoniso Maraire, Dudu Manhenga, Alexio Kawara and Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave, among others.
